DANIEL BOONE RUN
SET FOR JUNE 9TH
The 27th annual Daniel Boone’s Run for Statehood has been set for June 9th , 2018. The format will be the same as the previous nineteen. There will be three races: the half-marathon (13.1 miles), a five kilometer (3.1 miles), and a one mile fun run. The half-marathon will begin at 8:00 am, the one mile at 8:05, and the 5K at 8:20. Entry forms and award information will be in today’s Falmouth Outlook. They may also be obtained on the Internet at danielboonerun.com The streets involved in the race will begin being closed at 7:30 and most will reopen by 9:15 am. Four streets involved in the half-marathon will remain closed until approximately 10:00 to 10:30 am. The police will be on hand to direct traffic around the street closings and insure both the motorists’ and competitors’ safety with a minimum of inconvenience to the motorists. Businesses will be able to conduct their normal activities and are encouraged to become involved in the race. Possible stages of involvement can include setting up water stations along the course, giving door prizes or coupons as random prize drawings at the awards ceremony, participating in the race, and race sponsorships.
