GREAT JOB CRAIG SMITH!
We are pleased to announce that one of our Water Plant Operators Craig Smith has received his Drinking Water Treatment IIIA License. Craig has been with the city since February of 2012, during that time he has worked in various positions where he has contributed his time to garbage, electric, water distribution and sewer distribution. In June of 2015 he decided to transfer to the Water Production Department and became a Water Plant Operator for the city.
With his education and his experience, we believe he will do a splendid job in this new role and the responsibilities that come with being a licensed operator.
Please join the Mayor, City Council, and fellow employees in congratulating Craig Smith on receiving his DW Treatment IIIA License.

City of Falmouth Public Works Begins Annual Leaf Collection
MONDAYS - WEDNESDAYS - FRIDAYS
City of Falmouth has begun annual leaf collection and will continue through the month of November. The vacuum truck will be out on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Guide for Quality Service for Leaf Collection – Help speed up leaf collections by taking note of the following guidelines.
- To avoid obstructing proper drainage and causing equipment damage, put leaves out to the edge of street.
- Do not mix leaves with limbs, brush, sticks, trash, rocks, bricks, or the like. Leaves containing these materials may be bypassed in order to prevent equipment damage and collection delays.
- Do not block leaf piles with vehicles.
- If you notice drainage grates clogged in your area, please call (859) 654-6937 to request cleaning.

Understanding that the recent service increases may have made it difficult to resident’s budgets, the City would ask that anyone having trouble paying the current bill, to contact the City and ask for additional time to pay. Provided residents are current on the prior bills, those before the increases, the City will grant an extension, prior to the imposition of any late fees and/or shut off. The City would ask that you contact the City and request the extension versus simply not paying.

The City of Falmouth’s Revitalization & Events committee hosted its Spring Clean-Up on Saturday, April 28th, which included 37 volunteers working across two shifts to spruce up the City! Teams began Downtown working primarily on Shelby and Main streets focusing on trash, debris and soot in gutters. While the entirety of the debris was not removed, teams worked diligently to clean sidewalks of grass, weeds and years of soot. Among the teams was one working on weeding and mulching around the city sign as well as pressure-washing the Veterans Park shelter. Lunch was provided at noon before the second shift began to close our the day of volunteerism. The City of Falmouth and Falmouth Forward committee would like to thank all who participated!
Additional work thanks to BB&T will be done on Veterans Park within the next month, and city streets will continue to be cleaned into the summer months. Thank you in advance for doing your part to keep our city clean! It takes each of us doing our small part to make out city a cleaner, safer place.
City employees gathered on April 21st to congratulate and honor our newly retired employee Jake Jacob. Jake was with the city for 14 years and will be greatly missed. If you see Jake out remember to wish him good health, happiness and continued success with his retirement!
Special Meeting Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at City Hall 6:30pm
The City will be Flushing Fire Hydrants from May 8-12, 2017. Beware and take notice because you may experience some low pressure water or some cloudy or discolored water do to the flushing of the hydrants.
Hydrant flushing is necessary to test the hydrants to make sure adequate flow and pressure is available. Flushing is also done to remove sediment from the pipes in order to maintain water clarity and quality in the distribution pipes.
City Hall will be closed Monday, May 29 in Observance of Memorial Day.
